Lake Idro, a glimpse of freshwater
Six miles long and one mile wide: it is Lake Idro, located between Lake Garda and Iseo and made of the Chiese river’s water and surrounded by Dolomites. It’s an Italian landscape on the border with Trentino Alto Adige where a number of different sports can be practiced such as free-climbing, mountain-bike, windsurf, kite-surfing, canoeing e paragliding – and in the villages that surround this area you can also find a number of very important masterpieces like Tiziano, Tintoretto and Palma the Young’s works.
On the other hand, plenty of fun is at your disposal with the famous carnival of Bagolino that handed down from an anthropological point of view the chants and the dances belonging to the XVIth and the XVIIth century besides the parades with costumes. It is a lake to be discovered, surrounded by amazing mountains at 370 meters of height and it is a lake to be tasted as well in the name of genuine and simple food and its products that put together the lake fish like the perches and the trout fish, the goat cheese and the Bagòss, a gift from the mountain pastures.
